Piano Lessons

Often observed is the well-known fact that formal piano lessons are wonderful for the development of the mind, both young and old alike. I personally have seen students grades improve after taking piano for a few months. Studies have shown that piano especially aids in Math skills. I personally know this to be the case. As a matter of fact, I am also degreed in Electrical Engineering. I left my Engineering work for my true love - Teaching and Music.
Beginners - Advanced Students:
I have enjoyed teaching beginners as young as 3 years, as well as beginners in their senior years. Intermediate and advanced students are always a joy to work with as well.

Once again, all students are unique. A great teacher must adjust to the individual needs of each student. Certainly it is normally recommended that the student become proficient in the language of music: Reading and Writing. There is always physical training necessary in the mastery of an instrument. Also, Music Theory is valuable for understanding of the foundational tools used in composition. Finally, patience and persistence are virtues that are encouraged in reaching our goals in class as well as in life.

Musical Styles:
Musical Styles is a form of personal expression that comes from within. The great pianists continue to study various styles, often fusing them into their own personal style. It is my belief that we can always learn from the many different forms of styles, whether Classical, Contemporary, Pop, Gospel, Jazz, Folk, Rock, Opera, Latin, World Music, Country, or any of the other styles in the musical spectrum.
"Most teachers approach music lessons rigidly and systematically. I believe that everyone is unique and must therefore be taught in a truly unique way. In this manner, lessons can become alive and stimulating to both student and mentor. I personally have taken many lessons over my lifespan. As a student, I observed that great teachers create an atmosphere that encompasses more than the written note. Music is an expression of life itself; a gift from God. I always hope to share the inspiration received from the many great artists that I have been blessed to work with. I am especially indebted to my father who has been teaching music students for over fifty years. It is always an honor to share the knowledge and love of music that has been passed along to me."
